Venice Music Project invites you on a journey through time, where Venetian Baroque music comes back to life in the very places where it was first heard. Founded in 2013, the non-profit association has become a leading reference point for the research, restoration, and promotion of a musical heritage that lay silent for more than two centuries.
Like the patient restoration of a fresco that gradually brings its colours back to light, Venice Music Project returns forgotten works to the stage, offering the emotion of often first-time performances deeply rooted in the city’s history.
Concerts take place in the evocative Scuola Grande dei Carmini, where music, art, and architecture converge in a truly immersive experience. Before each event, audiences are invited to visit the monumental halls, admiring the paintings of Giambattista Tiepolo and the finely carved interiors that tell the story of eighteenth-century Venice.
The ensemble’s Musical Archaeology project has led to the rediscovery of significant unpublished Venetian compositions, also featured in the documentary Venetian Mysteries: The Lost Music, produced in collaboration with the Buccleuch Living Heritage Trust.
In 2026, Venice Music Project is proud to present the results of two years of study devoted to the only complete surviving manuscript of Tetide in Sciro by Domenico Scarlatti.
The 2026 Autumn Concert Season also launches Baroque and Beyond: Mozart and His Teachers, a new series dedicated to the composers who shaped the young Mozart’s musical education during his travels in Italy. A journey through the rich musical landscape from which one of history’s most extraordinary artistic voices emerged.
