Special Exhibition Visit curated by the Cultural Association “Collezione Piero Marengo”
On the occasion of the National Day for the Promotion of Reading on March 24, we look forward to a special guided visit dedicated to the discovery of extraordinary books.
Animated books are truly multifunctional editorial works. Thanks to complex paper mechanisms, folds and cuts that create 3D scenes, special glasses designed to reveal invisible depths, and 33 rpm records to listen to in order to extend the experience into the auditory dimension, words and images become places of exploration.
The Cultural Association “Collezione Piero Marengo” works to preserve and promote a very rich collection of rare animated books and paper works. It is among the very few collections in Italy able to document the historical evolution of the “animated books” publishing genre.
On Sunday, March 29, they will guide us through the discovery of this fascinating world, starting from the works displayed in the exhibition “C’è oggi una fiaba” (There Is a Fairy Tale Today).
Curated by the Cultural Association “Collezione Piero Marengo” and Libreria Antiquaria Freddi, Turin.
The admission ticket includes: access to the Park, the Castle, and the exhibitions (when on display), visitor materials, and audio guides.
