On 9 April 1746, Holy Saturday, Johann Adolf Hasse’s acclaimed oratorio Sant’Elena al Calvario, set to a libretto by Pietro Metastasio, was performed for the first time in the Court Chapel of Dresden. Join us for an evening devoted to the most beautiful pages of this sublime oratorio from the golden age of the Baroque.
