The 30th edition of Festivaletteratura awaits you from September 9th to 13th!

The thirtieth edition of Festivaletteratura awaits you in Mantua from Wednesday, September 9th to Sunday, September 13th, 2026.

To celebrate this long-awaited anniversary, more than 300 Italian and international authors will come to enliven the buildings and streets of Mantua, creating a festival that never ceases to reinvent itself, blend languages, bring generations together, and question the present.

This year, the Festival will discuss identity and belonging, in a world where we increasingly feel like strangers. Examples of this are authors whose works blur the boundaries of states and continents, languages, histories and traditions: from David Szalay, winner of the 2025 Booker Prize, to Mauritian Nathacha Appanah, from the highly anticipated Emmanuel Carrère, Mathias Énard and Amitav Ghosh to Romanian writer and playwright Matei Vișniec, from Peruvian Gabriela Wiener to Johan Harstad, Olivier Guez and Tommy Wieringa.
