The highly anticipated appointment with the International Alba White Truffle Fair is back, which will take place in Alba from 8th October to 4th December!
DONKEYS PALIO AND HISTORICAL REEVOCATION
On the first Sunday of October, around the Cathedral of San Lorenzo in the historic center of Alba, the Donkey Palio takes place, the crazy race which sees the nine villages of the city compete for the conquest of the cloth. The race, organized with total respect for animals, takes place in an arena full of colors, costumes, boldness, and fans. As a preview of the Palio, on Saturday evening, each village challenges each other with costumes during the historical re-enactment.
The theatrical show is made by over 400 participants.
THE WORLD TRUFFLE MARKET
The International Alba White Truffle Fair is one of the largest showcases of high gastronomy and Italian excellence.
The heart of the Fair is, as always, the World Market of the White Truffle of Alba, the ideal place to appreciate and buy truffles from the Langhe, Monferrato and Roero areas. Inside you can buy the truffle from all the sellers present (Trifulau or traders), with the supervision and support of the Quality Commission. The entrance ticket to the Alba White Truffle World Market IS INCLUDED by purchasing the Wine Tasting Experiences, Truffle Sensory Analysis, Cooking Shows or Fresh Pasta Ateliers. It can be collected directly at the cash desks by presenting the purchase voucher.
Every weekend, during the Fair, at 11.00 and 18.00, at the Sala Beppe Fenoglio, inside the Cortile della Maddalena and adjacent to the World Truffle Market, the cooking shows allow you to discover the secrets of the great names in the kitchen national and international that, alternating in the kitchen, will make you taste their dishes, created for the occasion, combined with the white truffle of Alba.
Among the workshops, we find the Atelier della Pasta, where it is possible to learn the secrets and tricks of homemade egg pasta, which finds the perfect match with the White Truffle of Alba. The absolute protagonists are the various types of fresh pasta typical of the area. At the end of the course, there will be a tasting of the products selected by the chef.
The Wine Tasting Experience® is the most original tasting you can participate in in the Langhe. Experienced winemakers and sommeliers will guide you on a journey through the different varieties of wines and labels of the territory, revealing their characteristics and curiosities. The "teachers" are experienced producers, oenologists, or sommeliers, each with his own personal point of view: from the value of the aromas in a glass of wine to the combinations of wine and food, up to the characteristics of the wines in relation to the municipality in which the vines are cultivated.
Truffle Sensory Analysis: smelling the scent of the precious and rare Alba White Truffle is certainly easy and pleasant, but it is much more difficult to code the finer organoleptic characteristics. It is an immersive experience led by the Sensory Analysis judges of the National Center for Truffle Studies, in which to discover the organoleptic characteristics of Tuber magnatum Pico.
Unusual Dinners are unique occasions in which great chefs on the national and international scene meet the Alba White Truffle is one of the most popular foods and wine districts in the world, and take place in a place not typically used for cooking.

Inside the Castello di Roddi, one of the most beautiful Italian cooking schools, through theoretical and practical courses, you will be taught the traditional recipes of Langhe, Monferrato, and Roero and the great iconic dishes of important chefs in a very special location. Participants are always personally involved and will have the opportunity to taste what is being prepared, accompanied by a glass of wine.
