Corse A Vuoto Ronciglione - Palio S. Bartolomeo 2023

On 20 August in Ronciglione, in the province of Viterbo, the finals of the Empty Races return.
A unique event in the world: 9 Districts, 18 Horses, compete for the Palio in a real racecourse set up in absolute safety to guarantee the protection of the animal's well-being, built along the Farnese streets of the City of Ronciglione Borgo dei Borghi 2023, on a route of about 800 meters where the horse runs shaken, free, without any constraint, galloping.

Buy tickets online and don't miss out!

Also this year it is possible to purchase the NUMBERED seat in the grandstand online (hurry up to choose the best one!) or the entrance ticket to the parterre.
The grandstand ticket price guarantees, in addition to accessing the course, being able to watch the start comfortably seated (the so-called "Mossa") throughout the event through the big screen located behind the starting pits.

Saturday 19 August: six or more trial batteries made up of three horses each, where the participating districts will test their horses with any reserves presented at the Palio and perhaps decree which will be their standard bearer. (Not for sale online).

Sunday 20 August: 5 batteries of six Horses. Qualifications, Consolation (third and fourth qualified), and Final (first and second). Historical procession of the districts, extraction of the starting boxes for the finals where fate could influence the outcome of the race, and ceremony of the delivery of the various awards. "Raffaele Antinelli" prize to the Rione winner of the "consolation", "Salvatore Sangiorgi" prize to the Lascino del Cavallo Winner, "Claudio Caterini" prize to the Captain of the Rione who will have made the best placements in the various batteries as well as in the coveted Palio "Città of Ronciglione” to the winning District.
With entrance to the parterre, it will be possible to watch the Palio in the various areas of the route or perhaps move along it by following the other stages on the screens in Piazza Principe di Piemonte and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. The Palio is not just a race, it is culture, tradition, sociality, entertainment, an experience not to be missed, exciting for tourists and lovers of the Poles.

Three conductors will enliven the afternoons with speeches, interviews with the protagonists and will take turns to tell and excite us in the various stages of the race.
