The central theme for this new edition of Scrittorincittà is "FINESTRINI" (small windows/viewing windows).
Books are like small windows. Through them, the world flows by—always different—and we gaze into it.
And what happens when it’s dark outside? These windows… reflect. They reflect our own faces, as well as the faces of those beside us. People who are forced to move—due to war or poverty—also look out at the world through such windows.
But are the screens of our computers, televisions, and smartphones also windows?
Perhaps—or perhaps not. Maybe even people’s faces are windows. A window acts as a boundary between the outside and the inside.
And when a new library is inaugurated, its windows are opened, of course—but, more importantly, so are its "small windows" (its viewing portals).
